Review

While his debut album on pokerflat “in between” catapulted berlin-based producer MARTIN LANDSKY into the top-ranks of tech-house artists, this spectacular follow-up singles further cements his seat on the olymp. “mission upskirt” is a fine piece of sparkling minimalis with it’s ultra dry, dead rocking beats, some precise cut-throat synth stabs, swirls and effects plus a masterful, hypnotic build-up that keeps up the pressure for the full 9 minutes and reminds in it’s clear structure of early 80’s dub as heard on wackie’s etc. besides a shorter, even more reduced edit of “mission upskirt” there’s also “he’s gone” on the flip: another rocker with deep, old-school organ chords and hyper-active, percussive rhythm.
