Tom Demac takes us down the deep/minimal route again with the latest release on Electronique Audio. The ‘Liquid Staircase e.p,’ definitely has an over all aim at the dance floor over the last output from the label. Although, there are some bits that are equally enjoyable for the home listener. The A track ‘Liquid Staircase’ opens up the e.p. And as soon as the needle hits the record you know where it’s heading. A throbbing bass line that is sure to attract some whistles from the dance floor, together with glitchy percussion, cutting hihats, and a twisted vocal line over the top. ‘Sunday Lunch’ represents the house elements of Tom Demac’s material, with ‘Domestic Dimming’ and ‘End Of…’ keeping the deep, melodic aspect to his production on Electronique Audio.

DE BUG (GER) 06.2006: “Tom DeMac gehört für mich immer (wirklich immer!) zu denen von denen ich wirklich eine Art von minimaler Perfektion erwarte, und die Erwartungen übertrifft er locker mit "Domestic Dimming" einem Track, der für mich zusammenfasst wie Detroit und Minimalismus heutzutage zusammengedacht werden müssten. Das ist so klar und deep, dass es einen wundert, warum kaum jemand so einen Sound macht. Auch das housiger "Sunday Lunch" dürfte im richtigen Moment an Charme kaum zu übertreffen sein und die beiden Tracks auf der A-Seite zeigen noch zwei Seiten mehr dieses unglaublichen aber dennoch nicht überzogenen Sounddesign. Extrem elegante Platte. ”
