P. LAUER is Phillip Lauer, a producer, musician and sometime DJ based in his home town of Frankfurt. The Staystacedays EP contains four varied slices of deep’n'raw house music. These tracks combine classic Chicago influenced sounds & basslines with tight European style production. Raised on a strict diet of hip hop, punk rock and skateboarding, Phillip finally succumbed to the pleasures of electronic music in the late nineties when he started producing deep house tracks after hearing Arj Snoek’s track People Know. The first results, mastered straight from cassette, were released as Plenty Ammo on Inbetween Records and it is from some of these early sessions that this Real Soon release is drawn. Between 2001-2003, Phillip was responsible for a series of EPs, collaborations and remixes for the excellent Frankfurt based Séparé Recordings culminating in the superb Bud EP. More recently Phillip has found his home at Punkt Music and his music has developed a new fiercer sound, moving away from the more traditional house template to a harder machine-driven sound of cranking beats, fuzzy FM synths, robotic voices and driving acid-electro basslines.
