Jamie Lloyd follows up his last12 inch Adori’s Kitchen with an EP of low-slung disco grooves, vocal cutups and great songwriting showing another side of this talented Australian artist. New York’s Brennan Green opens proceedings with his Movin’ Out remix, a tasty 8 minute slab of disco space funk with slippery squelching lead synth runs and cheeky breakdowns throughout. Jamie’s original continues in the 107bpm disco electric vibe with nice sounds and a cool sense of space. Flip for Zooptron, a quirky, chopped up party tune in the spirit of Jamie Lidell and All The Honey, a spaced out minimal disco gem in a Metro Area or Kelley Polar vibe.

Nachdem sein Label Chinatown mit „Little Ease“ und den Lindstrøm Remixen ordentlich Wind machte, veröffentlicht er seinen nächsten Streich als Kollaboration mit dem japanischen Jet-Set-Label. Die haben auch gleich die Breakbeat-Kids Force of Nature als Remixer angeheuert, die aus dem säuregetränkten Original eine Affäre machen, auf die sich auch Carl Craig einlassen würde. Auf den Punkt gebracht. Selbiges veranstaltet Green seinerseits mit DJ Kaos. Dessen Disco-Punk-Funk „Cerebraltremolo“ ist im ersten Take doch etwas zu lang geraten. Brennan nimmt etwas an den Seiten weg, lässt aber Sal Principato am Mikrofon unbescholten. Konzise nennen das Geschichtsprofessoren. Von Khan gibt es zusätzlich noch einen gesalzenen 303-Remix. Das Herz- und Glanzstück ist allerdings der Remix des New Yorkers für Jamie Lloyd. „Movin In“ ist schon in der Ursprungsversion kein Trauerkloß, gewinnt aber durch Brennan Green und einen Fultonesquen Basslauf das letzte Quentchen, das Platten für das Prädikat „larger than life“ benötigen.”
