IKEN returns with his second release - another atmospheric house-influenced journey - following up his well-received debut IMAGE OF ADRAWN SWORD (Real Soon 10″, 2003). This new EP features 3 tracks… the distorted dirty disco workout of the title track ASPECTS, the shimmering filtered funk of IN TOUCH, and the mysterious pulsing drone and Eno-like Moog shapes of DECEMBER SPRING. As on IMAGE OF ADRAWN SWORD, IKEN produces a rich organic unpolished sound, full of detail and inspired by a love of getting inside his machines and letting them flow. This is no laptop creation - all IKEN’s instruments are run by an Atari 1040 and recorded live to tape with not a plug-in in sight! IKEN is a young producer based in rural Suffolk on the east coast of England. The first pressing of ASPECTS also includes the bonus 7″single MIND’S EYE / CLOSE RANGE (Real Soon, RS-008). These tracks hint at the more techno elements of IKEN’s sound.
