Aland Byallo is a busy activist from San Francisco. He runs his label Kvadrat Produkt, he promotes parties under the Kontrol banner and he also hosts an internet radio (www.protonradio.com). As if this wasn’t enough, he also produces music. Together with people like John Tejada, Justin Maxwell, Claude Von Stroke and the excellent Dirtybird label, he is responisble for prroviding an alternative to the tribal sounds of the Westcoast. Alland clearly had a look over the big pond for inspiration and thus it is no wonder his track “Buckets” seamlessly blends in with what is rocking German and european dancefloors.With two releases on Gumption and Leftroom Ed Davenport managed to make huge waves in the Minimal community. The young London based producer quickly made himself a name for on the one hand being quite versatile in both producing very sparse, stripped down tunes as well as producing more opulent, emotional stuff. On the other hand he really knows a lot about arranging. Ed clearly is a long distance runner with his tracks clocking in at 10 minutes and longer. He uses the time he is taking to full capacity, yet sticking to a strict economy of sounds. His diverse talentss interlock effortlessly on his contribution for Liebe Detail. There are his clear ideas of sound, his well timed, nonchalantly paced arrangement as well as a notion of melancholic electronica one has been missing in dance music since the early tracks of someone like Luciano.EXCLUDED TERRITORY:ITALY!!!!

Hätte man das besser Formulieren können? Nö. Und dieser Blechbüchsengroove, der einen hier in einen groovenden Muskel aus Fleisch und Begeisterung verwandelt, ist etwas für das man sein Hirn opfern würde. Scheibchen für Scheibchen. Brillianter Track mit mindestens zehnmal soviel Ideen wie die meisten auf einer EP unterbringen, und das ohne den Track aus dem einem Guss springen zu lassen. Ed ist ein Gott. So. Armer Alland. Dagegen ist schwer was auszurichten. Dabei ist "Buckets" ein feiner zirpend zierlich zauseliger Detroittrack mit trudelnd verwirrend betörender Melodie und solide housigem Groove. Nunja. Brilliant ist das doch”

Der San Francisco-Aktivist Byallo schlägt sich mit dem Londoner Ed Davenport dabei klar auf die Seite des Monsters, das auf den Namen „Minimal“ hört und längst außer Kontrolle geraten ist. Byallo bewahrt als Westküstler zwar die Fassung, lässt sich aber von Davenport die Butter vom Brot klauen. Der Londoner klingt fast so frisch wie der unschuldige Luciano und trägt eine nette Melodie auf den Lippen. „Schwanengesang“ wäre ein passender Titel für diesen potentiellen Clubhit. Wertkonservative Brüder dürften hingegen Gefallen an dem Meyer-Weisemann-Split finden. Ersterer reagiert sich mit teutonischer Genauigkeit an Maus & Stolle-Mustern ab, während sich der blutjunge Weisemann (checkt das Mojuba Label!) als Sven Glückspilz erweist. Spagat-House zwischen Gestern und Morgen, der sowohl alten wie neuen Holzköpfen Spaß macht. Cadenza, hab’ Acht!”
