The second installment of the liebe*detail spezial series comes in the form of more remixes of one of their signature tracks, Move D’s „Anne Will“. After the first part with remixes by Lawrence, Argy and Vincenzo more or less focussed on the House aspects of the original, this part emphasises the Techno side of things. Prolific producer DENIS KARIMANI from Hamburg turns „Anne Will“ into a minimal, thumping bass affair, that just keeps building up and up until a soaring heavy synth riff lifts it even more up and takes the mix through the roof. This is clearly the most peaktime oriented mix. JACKMATE: Michel Baumann (aka Soul Phiction aka part of Mandmade Science and owner of the Philpot label) from Stuttgart sticks to the loopy and hypnotic formula of Move D’s original. But instead of keeping it House for late nights, he strips the track down to its rhythmic backbone, making it bump and grind reminiscent of the minimal grooves of Chicago House. Production team MY MY from Berlin tackle their remix a little different. They heavily concentrate on syncopated rhythms, providing „Anne Will“ with sort of a Latin feel. Additionally, a very dynamic low end makes for the right ammount of club-friendliness, making My My’s treatment appeal to both openminded Broken Beat and Techno-/House-Djs.

Als DJ schadet das natürlich überhaupt nicht, aber so zum Hören ist es ein wenig karg, wenn es losgeht aber ziemlich monströs, ohne dabei aufdringlich zu sein. Der Jackmate Mix verlässt sich auf das "Yeah" und geniesst das, als wäre es das Stroh im Schweinestall. Am sympathischsten ist mir allerdings trotz allem der My My Mix, der hat einfach den deepesten Bass und das lässigste Piano und genießt dieses namensgebende Vocalschnipsel am besten. ***** BLEED”

First up Dennis Karimani steps up and turns in a minimal, yet funky take with a lot of energy. This has a lot of swing with its strong drums and xylophone sounding melody. Jackmate's remix is deeper with little bleeps and a handclap led groove and the vocal snippet from the original. My favourite remix here is definitely the My My remix with its loose percussion, cool keys and summery feel. ”

GROOVE 05/2007: “Anne Will, die nächste Runde. Nach dem wunderschönen Original, den tollen Remixen von Vincenzo, Lawrence und Argy sind jetzt Denis Karimani, Jackmate und MyMy an der Reihe. Denis Karimani legt furios los und schiebt und schiebt und schiebt, bis sich seine minimale Pumpe mit einem Synth-Riff ins geradezu Orchestrale steigert. Wow. Jackmate speckt ab und belässt es bei Rhythmus und Bass im Zusammenspiel mit hypnotischen Loops. Kurz: Chicago House. MyMy wiederum überraschen mit deepen Piano-Chords, umrahmt von einer bassigen Minimal-Batucada, der man nur wünschen kann, dass sie ihren Weg auch in die Kiste der verbliebenen Broken Beat-DJs findet.
