After already four strong 12“es on Audiomatique we proudly welcome back Robert Babicz with his fifth Audiomatique release: „Dark Flower“ is a shiny groover accompanied y a beautiful remix from Rotterdam based Techno-veteran Joris Voorn. The A-side features two new tracks by Robert, „Dark Flower“ and „Spiralboogie“. „Dark Flower“ showcases Robert’s typical handwriting: a dry, but funky groove construct with melancolic and deep synths while some highly seductive bass slaps create this very special Babicz feeling. „Spiralboogie“ spreads its magic on A2. Slowly building, having the funk in the trunk and fully focussed on simple, but reliable qualities. Forward ever, backwards never. The flipside holds our chef’s suggestion: an extraordinary Joris Voorn remix of „Dark Flower“ which already stirred a huge buzz when Steve Bug tested it on his recent Japan-tour or Robert played it out in Brasil last month. Joris Voorn‘s mix perfectly combines floating harmonies with a thrilling drive. Simply irresistible.
