Trickski first caught the ears of Future Classic back at the beginning of their career with their slow, powerful club tracks Sunshine Fu*k on Sonar Kollektiv and Hormony, the first release in Compost Records Black Label series. From the beginning they stood out from the masses of producers out there: 1/ their music has balls 2/ they are not afraid to take risks 3/ they go deep … but … 4/ they still have a sense of humour. After Nathan met Daniel and Yannick in Berlin several years back a friendship quickly developed with Trickski touring to Australia a couple of times, and the Aussies also playing at Trickski’s residency at Cookies in Berlin. Several originals and remixes later (including a stormer for Jamie Lloyd), it’s great to present an original Trickski 12inch on Future Classic. This ep actually started with the B side. Roman rocked the dancefloor in Sydney, its raw power and understated production nous accented by clever use of strings, reminiscent of early Ame productions, before resolving with a sweet chord progression style single note guitar melody. Definitely memorable, we added this Roman Theme guitar part onto the B2 vinyl only, as a useful tool for reintroducing the Roman flavour in your dj sets. Then Cindy came along, slower but again powerful, building subliminally before blossoming into a kaleidoscope of Trickski club colour. Trickski tracks have appeared on mix cds by Carl Craig (Fabric), DJ T (Get Physical) and Damian Lazarus (Crosstown Rebels). They dj at clubs such as Cookies, Weekend and Tape (Berlin); Fabric, The End and Bar 54 (London); Club 11 (Amsterdam), Dornroosje (Nijmwegen), Culture Box (Copenhagen), Rollerboys (Stockholm), Zukunft (Zurich), Goa (Madrid), Batofar and Nouveau Casino (Paris), Trintaeum (Porto), Brancaleone (Rome), Sottomarino Giallo (Milan), Dada (Tel Aviv) übel & gefährlich (Hamburg), Registratur (München) and Root Down (Freiburg) to name a few favourites. I’m totally in love with Cindy. Roman is handsome too..;) Will |
