Dave DK needs no introduction, since his debut Moodmusic album “Lights and Colours” he´s been busy travelling the world preaching his trademark electronic deep house sound and remixing Florian Kruse, Tigerskin and Seva K for labels Baalsaal, Global Underground and Dirt Crew among other things. For the new Moodmusic release Dave packs 2 tracks from the album in new edits as well some major remix biz from Ada (Areal, IRR) and Russ Gabriel (Mobilee, Ferox) Remixing Cinema Paraiso was Ada´s choice, the epic floating, almost balearic feel to it fitted perfectly the fine hand of Ada and her perfect production values. Starting with a rough 303 bassline, building an intense but deep affair buidling into a hypnotic frenzy of old school acid and modern electronics ! From the feedback from the few selected djs who got their hands on this gem, Ada´s remix is allready in Groove Mag top-10 ! The B-side Coimbra, a rocking house belter with neat sample editing and the Dave DK bassline juggling between the low end and the ultra low sub. Russ keeps much of the original intact, deepening the groove with his funk injected beats and some lush Detroit influenced chord action like we know and love from him. As a bonus we include the original mix for those vinyl lovers out there ! |
