The latest new comers from Barcelona are Sw eden born pow erduo of Marco Gegenheimer and Jens Rosengren aka Gegenheimer & Jenius. Both of them are active in the spanish house scene and have been creating a havoc w ith their record label collective Ourvision w hich released the excellent “Archimboldo” from fellow Sw ede Axel Boman. The tracks they offered to Moodmusic have a simple message of floor dominance w ith musical values and they´ve proven to w ork fairly w ell on recent Moodmusic nights at Panorama Bar and Sonar. Starting w ith “Basic Shape”, a tech-housey, almost early techno feel takes over w ith phasing keys and dry drumprogramming w ith a big break w ith lends a few notes from Detroit City. “Cadaqués” has a more house feel to it, still keeps the groove as main point w ith stabbing keys and a beautiful theme taking you on a trip to almost Mr Fingers territory. The closing track “IPS” has been a sureshot favourite at the Moodmusic HQ since w e got it, a classic deep house track of pure quality w hich show s the musical roots of these talented producers.
