Tartelet Records presents their eighth 12″ - ‘The Work Out 1&2′ Mountain Ride / Restless Swing This is the first split-12″ on Tartelet, and marks an important point in the peacemaking process between Denmark and Northern Germany, since the war in 1864. Wareika, from Hamburg on the A side, are one of Germany’s most promising acts and Tomas Barfod & Fredski, from Copenhagen on the B side are first of all founders of Tartelet Records, secondly known from party- techno releases on Get Physical and Tartelet itself. This is the 3rd Tartelet Galaxy Edition release, which means that it embraces more experimental and deep sounds than the non-Galaxy output from Tartelet. Work Out 1# - Mountain Ride As the other german Tartelet artist Brand Brauer Frick, Wareika are known for their very organic approach to making deep techno and electronica. They have been releasing on some of Germanys strongest house and techno labels like Connaisseur, MotivBank and Liebe/Detail. Wareika has a warm, almost free jazz-like sound with just as clear references to Sun Ra and Weather Report as Kraftwerk. Mountain Ride is best described as an epic, dancy, live country mixup with a whole bunch of clesmer sounds. The whole track is played live by the three Wareikans; Florian does the vocals and plays the bass, Henrik is on strings and Jakob works the electronic elements live into the track as they play. Work Out 2# - Restless Swing Tomas and Frederik revealed their passion for avantgarde, world and jazz on their two Get Physical release during the summer. On Restless Swing they take it even futher, with a live palette of piano drums and saxophones. Expect ‘house-chops’ meets ‘band jam session’.
