Review

The third and final part of our coloured vinyl trilogy comes again as a limited edition and handnumbred. This time NICK SOLÉ (Mojuba) drops three classic US deep house flavoured tunes. On the A side the musical journey is called “Earth” - steadily flowing and evolving and sometimes even getting lost in it’s melodies and harmonies while it keeps pushing forward with it’s hint of dub technoish spices. On the flip we have “Beautiful Day” which seems to be the perfect soundtrack for a long long sunny summer day or morning. Imagine the sun rising above some trees on the horizon and this track played out loud after a long dark night. Finally we have “You Are My Life” as a bonus track to finish of our trilogy! It’s dedicated to bring some colour, joy and friendliness into your life or set! This time the artwork has been done by cialex, who is the man behind the flyers of famous “Golden Pudel Club” in Hamburg and the Groove Release Parties in Horst Krzbrg! Tracklisting: a- earth b1 beautiful day (atmos deep mix) b2 you are my life

FAUXPAS003 in the media

Aera: “You are my live is a future classic! Loving the whole ep. Dankeschön!”

Dplay: “Killer Release ! Full Support”

Dubbyman: “i played it in the Freerotation festival also i used one of the tracks for my last podcast for Dj broadcast magazine. big support to your label man, please be in touch and let me know about the next releases... ”

Gerd Janson: “Catching Nick Solé for the third release, Fauxpas extends it's lovely range to Solés very well executed dub and echo heavy vibes. Sharp and precise record. It's looking good for Fauxpas Musik.”

JR: “Deep melodic, very cool!”

Langenberg: “next fantastic nick solé release ! love all tracks - full support !”

Michael DJ Broadcast: “New release by Nick Solé, with three atmosferic tracks that keep on trucking. The tracks slowly build up, to keep on going strong for a long time. Except for You Are My Life, that stops the clock before it reaches five minutes. But just as the other tracks it’s melodic and deep. Someone told us it’s summer? Keep them Fauxpas Musik coming please.”

Resident Advisor - Todd Burns: “Nick Solé has made a habit of parceling out his material slowly, similar in manner to the pace of his considered dubby house music. The 40-something began his production career in 2005, and, as such, doesn't seem to have the same careerist itch that many youngsters might. He's content to work on his tracks until they sound exactly as he wants them. (Literally: He's also mastered Beautiful Day as well.) His debut for Hamburg's Faux Pas imprint follows in the wake of excellent work from Desolate and Mittekill, and completes what the label is calling their "coloured vinyl trilogy." It's hard to discern exactly what ties these releases together, but Solé's release nonetheless remains true to his own sound: "Earth" slowly reveals its elements, content to drift along. "Beautiful Day" recalls Blaze's classic and the hazy vocals of Superpitcher's "Tomorrow" as it plots a course towards either sunrise or sunset. (It even comes complete with a bird tweeting in there too, just in case you didn't get the point.) Last, but certainly not least, "You Are My Life" injects a bit of funk into Solé's deep template, the sampled female vocalist buoyed by an upfront bassline. Yet another solid release from this underrated producer.”

Sven Weisemann: “Solé style, Nothing to say more”

youAndMe: “wonderful new fauxpas with 3 timless beauties! fauxpas is getting more and more to one of our favourite labels! thx.”
