Peter's Staff Tip: Mangan's Good Words & Bodycode's Doc

PeterFolks I need to recommend two cat numbers strongly this time.
First one is the incredible lorna 04 by one half of deadest, Tom Mangan.
While "good words" is a classic housetune you can´t do wrong throwing on the turntables, "bit lip" is the one that makes me freak.
Offering a good funked up groove from the first bar, it developes over the next 12 minutes into such a brilliant beater that I could even wet my panties.

Fantastic placed chords, a subbass which is a serious stomache massage and some decent placed Detroit synthlines is what Mangan offers the first half of the track, after 5 minutes an additional bassline gets dropped and from then the track could go for days and days. Timeless and a damned good record!!

Second one comes on the new born baby from Andy Vaz, “Yore” which has been able to receive with it´s previous Cat numbers the attention of the Connaisseurs and true music lovers. Bodycode aka Portable releases 2 phat tracks, which should make everybody feel ashamed having ever used the term “tech house” if this crap description was meant to define what happens when techno and house meet.

The title of this record, a document of an African past says it all. This is no oldschool Chicago whatever bla, this is simply true school – a dirty sound, layers of percussions, driving basslines, some vocalsnippets here and there and a simple synth line. This is about sound and groove and nothing but true school.  Enjoy
