The8-track album showcases his blend of joyous,melodic synth hooks, textured pads and analoguedrum machine rhythms. Leaving to one sidepummeling sounds, the focus of this album is onsonic fun, mining the 80s pop vibe DMX Krew doesso well. BBC 6 Music's Tom Ravenscroft describesthe trailing single 'Wednesday Memory' as "thefunkiest thing ever ... it's almost too joyous". Fromthe first 'A New Story', through to 'UncertainCalculation', DMX Krew delivers densely layered andsatisfying tracks, demonstrating the more imaginativeside of his output. The slight outlier is 'Continuation'which offers the most forceful 303 workout, bestsuited to a sweaty dance floor in the early hours.Overall the feel is playful, intelligent, melodic andwonderfully fun - best exemplified by multi-synthmasterpiece 'Data Cruncha' and Megadrive-esquetitle track 'Unlikely Seeming'. DMX Krew returns to Hypercolour with a new long player. ‘Spiral Dance’ comes stuffed with wonky and futuristic synth jams.

Having honed a style that has endured over an illustrious career, DMX Krew continues to immerse his productions in luscious analogue electronica, touching on the many bases of electro, Detroit techno, synthpop and dreamwave.

With previous albums for Rephlex, Permanent Vacation and Balkan Vinyl, amongst others, ‘Spiral Dance’ becomes the fifth album for Hypercolour, following on from 2021’s ‘Loose Gears’. More

After landing his malfunctioning PX-4000 on the purple planet, Captain DMX steps out of the smoldering cockpit. After barely setting foot on the dusty landscape, the Captain is startled by deep thudding from over the hills. Dragging his oxygen pack with one hand and his atomizer with the other, he sets off in search of the other-wordly din. Over the hill his pupils adjust to the stroboscopic lightning and below him lies a sea of strange creatures moving together as one body. A cosmic sermon takes place under the three suns in the sky, mechanical and stuttered frequencies set a manic pace and drive the dark creatures back and forth. Captain DMX sighs a heavy breath and starts to descend into the fray. More

The music here veers between grimy basement Acid trax, UK Bleep inspired future warehouse anthems and even an ultra cheeky ragga style rendition of Lil Louis' classic "Original Video Clash". Razor sharp futuristic textures from the Bristol based producer, dropping one of his deadliest EPs to date. Stratagalastico is an absolute bomb of machine-made dynamite, dark and deadly for those who like to lurk in the shadows. Creepy shenanigans are most certainly the order of the day, but with that said, Marco ends the EP with a deep, melodic piece titled “Bugs In The Virus”, a transcendent composition that enriches the Stratagalastico experience and completes the package. Killer.
