Today, modular synth expert and electronic music pioneer Sébastien Léger returns to All Day I Dream to release his ‘Regina Blue’ EP, A longtime All Day I Dream family member, Sébastien first joined the label in 2018, releasing his esteemed ‘Lost Miracle’ EP. Since then, Sébastien has been a consistent contributor to the label and performer at ADID events across the globe- making him a staple of All Day I Dream’s musical identity. He has released four EPs on the label prior to ‘Regina Blue’, and has participated in multiple All Day I Dream compilations. Sébastien’s most recent All Day I Dream EP, ‘Feel’, which includes hit tracks ‘Feel’ and ‘Son of Sun’, was released to much acclaim in 2021, leaving fans eager for his return to the label. The ‘Regina Blue’ EP offers three originals, which showcase Sébastien Léger’s production talent and emotive range. The EP begins with the title track, where Sébastien takes his time building the percussion-led rhythm, before bringing in joyous melodic elements through powerful synth riffs. On the B-side of the record, ‘We Used to Laugh’ kicks off with optimistic, fluttering synths around crisp percussion. As the track progresses, listeners are taken on a journey as Sébastien’s harmonies evokes a deep emotional response. All Day I Dream favorite Sébastien Léger is welcomed back with open arms for a summery new longplayer, ‘Feel.’ In it, he’s supplied three new originals that showcase his continued effort to step outside the traditional confines of deep and melodic house. The modular synth expert starts off gently with the EP’s title track, taking his time in building its silky, bass-led foundation into a more lighthearted fare with jazzy keyboard and synth riffs fluttering around crisp percussion and subtle vocal effects. “Lava” picks up the pace and heads in a rhythmic direction, before “Son Of Sun” closes the release out with melancholic harmonies and filtered instrumentation for a hint of nostalgia. Those choosing the vinyl route will receive a different, exclusive closer in the form of “Glory.” As a whole, ‘Feel’ makes for a fitting follow up to ‘Secret,’ his last full release on the label.

Sébastien (yes, we are on a first name basis with him now) returns. His music is always unique and alluring, it continues to push the emotive genre's boundaries while maintaining his signature. “Ashes In The Wind”, a beautiful and melancholy piece brims with sadness and longing. Not the obvious first choice of many for the lead track but, after a thousand plays around the world’s sunrises and sunsets an enduring and classic in the making. “Menabelle” takes inspiration from last year's hit, “Lanarka”, using and twirling cut up vocals to soaring effect. The EP is closed out with the classy and stylish string and synth gem, “Secret”. Beautiful and patient this track sends the EP out into deep space. Close your eyes and dream.

Double Touch return to All Day I Dream label to release their four track EP, Storm. The duo is joined by Reigan, who contributes vocals for two tracks on the EP . The EP kicks off with its title track, which features vocals from Reigan about power, control, and the bliss of surrender. Reigan and Double Touch are frequent collaborators; Reigan has contributed vocals for past Double Touch EPs released on All Day I Dream, TRYBESOF, and Magician on Duty. Complex layers of percussion commence the record. Over the course of the introduction, melodic elements are slowly incorporated, crescendoing as Reigan begins to sing the first verse. The track breaks down around the midway point - as the percussion fades away, Reigan’s voice is highlighted, and tension builds. After the next chorus, the drums are reincorporated, as latent energy is released. Regarding her lyrics, Reigan said: “The feeling of surrender comes during the melodic change in the chorus. I say “take hold of me” twice and then when I say “and you take all of me” the lift in the note feels euphoric. This is the surrender to power. ‘Storm’ is a dance of power and passion, pleasure and control. It’s leaning into the bliss of surrender while exploring the indirect holders of power in doing so.”

For his debut EP release on All Day I Dream, Bona Fide showcases a diverse repertoire of sounds across the eight tracks. FigureX39 kicks off the trilogy, with our very own Arthur Robert at the helm, fittingly remaking the album's pensive closer into a melodic peak time stomper. Ø [Phase] ramps up the intensity on straight-laced Temple, keeping the BPM in line with modern techno's need for speed.
On the flip, rRoxymore inverts Tor 8 into a psychedelic funnel of haunted voices and pummeling percussion, while dubby synth swilrs and ferocious filter action give Pangea's rework of Space Cowboys I a distinctly UK-feel.
Coming in as hard hitting as ever, PAS layers high-octane rave stabs and nonstop propulsive drums on his version of Yantra and one of the album's few original house tracks, It's Time … gets the Truncate treatment, making for lean, clap-heavy groover with enough low-end to move some bodies. Often known for his cinematic compositions, Djrum delivers a complex masterpiece of heady drum science and intricate patterns condensed into one dazzling mosaic of sound. Closing this first EP out in style is Munich-based newcomer Polygonia, presenting her shimmering and always shifting remix of Friedrichshain Funk, effortlessly moving between driving rhythms and mystical melodies.

Do you know what time it is? It's debut o'clock. Emitting his first material for Pampa, it's &ME - craftsman of all things deep and sturdy, at the same time connoisseur of emotive touch and virtuoso of sure instincts, one of the scene's central characters for a good amount of years now and one of the main figures of Berlin's Keinemusik-crew. The man has been hitting the bulls eye of public perception several times in the past, meeting everything it takes to get a crowd going with an intent on the detail when it comes to his arrangements and sound. These new two cuts seem nothing less than the essence of his abilities.
There is "In Your Eyes", the name lending A side to this EP, showcasing a rather pensive mood. It's just a few bars for the compound of kickdrum, tuned hi-hat tambourine and shimmering background noise until the first chords of an improvised piano-piece are tenderly laid upon the beat. Add a synth-motive coming back and forth and you'll have the main ingredients to this - in every sense of the word - floor-moving tune. Accordingly, the arrangement won't aim for an all too obvious sensationalism and rather opts for a flowing and intertwining call and response of its elements, ultimately resulting in a staggering impact anyway.
In comparison, "As Above So Below" on the flipside is adding a fair amount of emphasis. It unfolds in a dry and dense sounding beat-architecture that's suspense-packed with shaker sounds and subtextual field recordings. Most certainly, a slip-proof ground for this tune's centre-piece, a scale-riding synthbass sparking an almost anthemic trigger for floor-ecstasy. While details like subtle reverberating tapping and sparkling ambient textures sound like recorded deep down in a dripstone cave, the overall energetic layout pushes relentlessly to the heights of peaktime-grandeur. There you have it: "As Above So Below" - this tune works on every level.

What can be said about Joey Beltram’s ‘Energy Flash’ that hasn’t be said already! The track still gets rinsed, week in, week out, across radio stations, clubs and festivals, testimony to the sheer importance of this techno classic. Released originally in 1990 on the R&S Records label, ‘Beltram Vol. 1’ included the aforementioned ‘Energy Flash’, alongside three equally ground-breaking dance tracks that possibly get overshadowed by the big lead track. But tracks like ‘Subsonic Bass’ broke the mould and went on to influence a raft of rave and drum ‘n’ bass tunes, thanks in part to its use of the now legendary ‘hoover’ bass sound. The sinister acid of ‘Jazz 3033’ still sounds as fresh today as it did 33 years ago, and the menacingly titled ‘Psycho Bass’ reveals the EP’s most passive moment, as its solid breakbeat cuts through ethereal tones and chugging synths. ‘Beltram Volume 1’ has been remastered by Beau Thomas at Ten Eight Seven Mastering, and the release comes in an updated sleeve, faithfully recreating the 1990 packaging.

As such, Pay Attention to the Bass is anything but straightforward, with ricocheting rhythms and alluring textures that are as easy to get lost in as they are to move your body to.
Listeners familiar with last year's Make Each Other Happy EP, which embraced dark disco grooves and crisp percussion, will be delighted at the new curveballs on display here: "Why Must I" euphorically merges the propulsive charge of UK funky with delicious piano-house stabs, while "OKay" anchors itself around a rubbery bass line like a lost cut from the Remain In Light sessions. The flip side gets dark and dank with it, as "Close the Door" echoes with spooky clatter and dubby wobbles before sprightly vibes break through-and the closing cut "Where r they Hiding" goes full-on tunnel techno with it, conjuring a mood that recalls the haunted house music of Sandwell District as well as the cold-sweat futuristic visions of jungle.
